What is a Web Application?

Wikipedia describes a web application as "an application that is accessed via web browser over a network such as the Internet or an intranet. It is also a computer software application that is coded in a browser-supported language (such as HTML, JavaScript, Java, etc.) and reliant on a common web browser to render the application executable."

Essentially, a web application is a computer software program that is running on a server and is accessed remotely using a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox or Google Chrome.
A typical example of web applications would be Google's Web Application Suite Google Apps.

All of our web applications can be hosted on the internet, either on EagleSoft Hosting servers or on your own hosting server, or installed on a server internal to your network to be used as an intranet solution.
